Some info to assuage all you passionate and ravenous Claire fans out there, I know you have all been waiting desperately for news of our intrepid traveller. This evening has brought her to the small-ish town of Santo Domingo de la Calzada. She will be bedding down for the night in an enormous pilgrim hostel where there is even a guy who will give you foot massage, if you show him suitably nasty-looking foot blisters. Unluckily, Claire shows no such visible signs of suffering, and apparently seems to be doing just fine. The weather today, however, took a turn for the worse - 10 degrees and raining all day long. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit better. She did 100k today, quand même. She even met and rode with a few fellow cyclo-pilgrims along the route - a German couple and a young Korean who she saw pushing his bike despondently up a hill but was later glad to see him arrive triumphantly at the hostel.

Last night she stayed in a tiny little village by the name of Villamayor de Monjardín (sans blague), in a very quaint little auberge where she met a lot of friendly people as well. She seems to be enjoying her independent lifestyle, all the while making lots of new friends and enjoying herself. She's even been taking opportunities to play music every day, in pubs, on the street, to great success!
